Why this matters for Edit bookings
The Edit credits only work on bookings made through Chase Travel, and Chase Travel does not always have the best cash rate. It is common to find the same room, same dates, same cancellation terms listed cheaper on Expedia or the hotel's own site. Without a price match, part of your $250 credit just refunds the markup. With one, the credit becomes a real discount on a fair rate.
The rules
- Prepaid hotel bookings only. Flights and other travel types are not covered.
- Book at least 24 hours before check-in.
- File within 24 hours of booking, with a screenshot of the lower rate.
- Exact match required: same room type, same bed configuration, same cancellation policy, same guest count.
- The competing rate must be public and priced in USD. Member-only and loyalty rates do not qualify.
- The nightly difference must exceed $5.
- Approved matches refund the difference in the original payment form, cash or points or a mix.
The workflow
- Pick your hotel on our Edit hotel list and find your dates on Chase Travel.
- Before booking, open the same hotel and dates on Expedia, Booking.com, and the hotel's own site. Match the room name, bed setup, and cancellation policy exactly.
- If an outside rate is lower, screenshot it with the room details, rate breakdown, and date visible.
- Book on Chase Travel anyway (prepaid, 2 or more nights, so the Edit credit fires).
- Immediately file the price match from the booking details page in Chase Travel. The window closes 24 hours after booking, and the claim link only appears on eligible bookings.
If you do not have price match yet
Comparison shopping still pays even without the guarantee. If Chase's markup on a specific hotel is larger than the value of the credit and on-property benefits, a different Edit hotel in the same city often prices honestly. Our list's typical nightly rates give you a baseline for spotting inflated quotes, and rates vary by date, so checking two or three candidate hotels takes minutes and routinely saves more than the credit itself.
Common questions
Does the price match work on Edit bookings?
Yes, for cardholders who have the feature. Edit stays are prepaid Chase Travel hotel bookings, which is exactly the covered category, and cardholders on the eligible cards have reported successful matches on Edit stays.
Can I match against Expedia?
Yes. Expedia, Booking.com, and hotel direct sites all qualify, as long as the room, bed type, cancellation policy, and guest count match exactly and the rate is public.
Do points bookings get matched?
The refund comes back in the original payment form. If you paid partly with points, the adjustment reflects that mix.
What if the price drops after my 24-hour window?
You are out of the window. The guarantee compares rates at booking time, filed within 24 hours. It is not ongoing price protection.
