Where the hotel list comes from
Chase shows the full list of Edit hotels only to cardholders inside Chase Travel, so we build ours from two independent, community-maintained lists gathered from it. Each list has occasionally missed a hotel for a few weeks, so a hotel stays on ours while either list shows it and comes off only after both have left it out for ten days. Hotels the two lists disagree on are flagged for review. The Edit changes through the year: hotels join, and a few drop off. Our nightly data check picks those changes up.
There are 1,536 hotels on the list as of the date above. When our count differs from a number you see elsewhere, the difference is usually timing.
What "typical nightly" means
The typical nightly figure is a median, not a quote. For each hotel we track roughly a year of forward nightly prices on Chase Travel, fees included, and take the middle value. Half the nights we observed cost less than that number and half cost more.
It exists for planning: comparing one hotel against another, or one city against another. Your dates will price differently. Always check the live rate before booking.
How we find the cheapest months
City seasonality comes from the same price calendars. For each city with at least 3 Edit hotels and enough calendar coverage, we compute the median nightly rate for every month of the year and mark the three lowest. The city guides chart all twelve months so you can see the shape, not just the answer.
These are patterns from observed Chase Travel pricing, not guarantees. A convention or a holiday can push any week against the trend.
The double credit flag
Hotels marked "2x credit" belong to both The Edit and the separate 2026 select-brand promotion (IHG, Montage, Pendry, Omni, Virgin, Minor, and Pan Pacific brands, minus a few published exclusions). We derive that flag from the participating brand rules. Chase does not publish a single combined list, so treat the flag as "likely eligible" and verify at booking. The select-brand promotion is currently listed through December 31, 2026.
Why Chase rates run high
Chase Travel pricing on these hotels often runs 10 to 20 percent above the hotel's own site or Expedia for the same room. The Edit credits and perks only apply to Chase Travel bookings, so the honest math is: credit value minus the markup. The price match guarantee can close that gap when you file in time.
Searching a town without an Edit hotel
When a town has no Edit hotel, the search suggests it anyway and shows the nearest Edit hotels by straight-line distance. Town names and locations come from GeoNames, used under the CC BY 4.0 license, and typed searches are matched against OpenStreetMap data.
What we do not do
No live quotes: rates shown are planning medians with their date of observation. No card application affiliate links: we earn nothing when you apply for a card, which is one reason the numbers here have no thumb on the scale. No relationship with Chase: the portal link opens chase.com and your booking is entirely between you and them.
How this site makes money
Hotel names open a rate comparison, and those are affiliate links. If you book a room through one, we may earn a commission from the booking site at no extra cost to you. That is the only revenue on this site today.
It does not touch the data. Rankings here are sorted by rate, not by payout, every hotel on The Edit is listed whether or not it is bookable through an affiliate, and we still tell you plainly that Chase Travel often runs above retail even though we earn nothing when you book with Chase. If those two things ever conflict, the number wins.
