Points or cash with the credits

The two can’t share a stay. The $250 Edit credit, and the $250 select-hotel credit at the 3 hotels marked 2x credit, are statement credits on a prepaid booking charged to your card. Paying entirely in points doesn’t trigger them, so for each trip it comes down to which you would rather spend.

The credits reset: the Edit credit twice a year, and the select-hotel credit ends with 2026. Points don’t expire. If you still have a credit to use this half of the year, paying cash at one of these hotels and keeping your points for a later boosted stay usually gets you more of both. If your credits are already used, 2.5 cents a point is the best rate Points Boost pays.

The list keeps changing

Chase doesn’t publish Points Boost rates, so these lists come from cardholders checking prices in Chase Travel and comparing notes. A few patterns from this month’s threads:

  • September 2026: A different list. Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel was on it, according to a cardholder who booked it then.
  • April 2026: The first list, at launch, included The Ritz-Carlton, Portland.
  • More rate levels: cardholders now see boosts of 1.25, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8, 2 and 2.5 cents a point, depending on the hotel.
  • Some cuts: several Four Seasons hotels, including Whistler, Las Vegas, Sydney and Maui, now show 1.25 cents for 2026 and 2027 dates, down from 1.65 or 2 before. Others, like Langkawi and New Orleans, show 2 cents.
  • Card differences: the Sapphire Reserve for Business can have a different list, and sometimes different availability.

Questions about Points Boost at Edit hotels

Can I use the $250 Edit credit on a Points Boost booking?

Not on a stay you pay for entirely with points. The Edit credit and the 2026 select-hotel credit are statement credits on a prepaid Chase Travel booking charged to your card, so each stay is a choice: points at the boosted rate, or cash with the credits taken off.

How do I see the Points Boost rate for a hotel?

Chase Travel does not label the rate. Search the hotel for your dates, then divide the cash price by the points price: at 2.5 cents a point, a $500 night costs 20,000 points. Cardholders who post these lists check them the same way.

Is it the same on the Sapphire Reserve for Business?

Not always. Cardholders report that the business card gets a slightly different list, with Le Royal Monceau in Paris below 2.5x on it this month, and that a hotel can show availability on one card and not the other. Check with the card you plan to pay with.

How often does the list change?

About monthly, as far as cardholders can tell, and without notice. September’s list was different, and some hotels that were once boosted, including several Four Seasons properties, now show much lower rates.
