A closed Sapphire Lounge got JFK travelers $75 each
When the Sapphire Lounge at JFK closed for repairs on October 21, Chase gave every cardholder who showed up a $75 voucher for restaurants around the terminal, plus a universal charger. The cardholder who posted about it said $75 was more than one breakfast could use, so they bought breakfast for a few strangers too.
The next evening, a cardholder facing a 150-minute wait at the Las Vegas lounge called Chase and got 2,700 points, though it took three calls.
Don’t count on it every time. Cardholders in the same threads say Boston handed out snack boxes during its remodel, and a LaGuardia closure got nothing. If you can’t get in, ask the lounge staff what they’re offering, and if the answer is nothing, call the number on the back of your card.
