The Edit in Las Vegas: MGM Hotels, the $100 Dining Credit and Resort Fees

Most Las Vegas Edit hotels are MGM Resorts properties, and they handle the benefits their own way. Here is what cardholders actually got at Park MGM, MGM Grand, ARIA, The Cosmopolitan, Bellagio and Vdara.

Key takeaways

  • Most Las Vegas Edit hotels are MGM Resorts properties. Park MGM and MGM Grand are the cheapest, typically about $252 and $243 a night.
  • Breakfast is not included at most MGM hotels. Bellagio, The Cosmopolitan and ARIA Sky Suites include it ($30 a person a day); Park MGM, MGM Grand, ARIA and Mandalay Bay do not.
  • The $100 dining credit works at MGM’s participating outlets across the Strip when you charge the bill to your room. Tips, unlisted outlets and takeaway bottles are not covered.
  • Resort fees are prepaid in the Chase total, and Wi-Fi comes as $5 a night off the fee. Check your folio at checkout anyway.
  • Call within 72 hours of arrival to confirm the $100 credit is loaded and to ask for early check-in or late checkout.

Las Vegas is one of the easiest places in the country to use an Edit credit. Rooms on the Strip are cheap by Edit standards, and most of the Vegas Edit hotels belong to MGM Resorts, which runs the perks its own way: a $100 dining credit you can spend at restaurants all over the Strip, resort fees paid up front, and, at most of its hotels, no breakfast.

Please note: We have not stayed at these hotels on The Edit ourselves. This guide pulls together stays that Sapphire Reserve cardholders reported on Reddit between September 2025 and summer 2026, with links to each post so you can read the originals, and adds the typical rates from our own price data.

The Edit hotels in Las Vegas

Chase lists 14 Edit hotels in Las Vegas, and 10 of them are MGM Resorts properties. The two that are not, the Fontainebleau and the Four Seasons, are run separately and are not part of MGM’s dining credit.

Breakfast is not included at most MGM hotels

This is the surprise that catches people most. Chase advertises daily breakfast for two as an Edit benefit, but the benefits are set hotel by hotel, and most MGM properties leave breakfast out. In September 2025, a cardholder at MGM Grand asked about breakfast at check-in, and the supervisor said MGM was “negotiating how the breakfast works with Chase” and gave a $30 credit for one day as a goodwill gesture.

Others in the thread pointed out that the MGM Grand listing never mentioned breakfast. One compared listings and found no breakfast at ARIA, Park MGM, MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay, while Bellagio, The Cosmopolitan and ARIA Sky Suites included it.

Where breakfast is included, it is a credit of $30 per person a day, capped at $60 for the room. A July 2026 report from The Cosmopolitan adds the details: the breakfast credit works at The Henry, Eggslut, District Donut and Wicked Spoon, must be used by noon, and does not apply on your check-in day. Booking a Wicked Spoon reservation charges your card, so wait in the standby line and charge the meal to your room instead.

Before you book, open the hotel on Chase Travel and read its own list of Edit benefits. If breakfast is not on that list, you will not get it.

The $100 dining credit

In place of the usual property credit, MGM hotels give Edit guests a $100 food and beverage credit once per stay. How it works, going by the reports:

  • Charge it to your room. Give your room number at the restaurant; one guest was also asked for ID. The credit comes off your bill at checkout.
  • Use it at MGM’s participating outlets. MGM keeps a list of participating restaurants and bars across its Las Vegas resorts. A March 2026 MGM Grand guest spent theirs at Secret Pizza and Ghost Donkey in The Cosmopolitan, a Park MGM guest used theirs at Morimoto in MGM Grand, and a Bellagio guest used theirs at The Cosmopolitan.
  • Unlisted outlets do not count. In January 2026, a Park MGM guest tested it on takeout from Buca di Beppo at Excalibur, which is not on the list. The full charge stayed on the bill. The same guest’s Morimoto dinner the next night was covered.
  • The card at your front desk may be narrower. In September 2025, MGM Grand handed one guest a card listing only MGM Grand’s own venues and excluding in-room dining, the minibar, Starbucks, the food court and several restaurants. Later guests have used the credit at other MGM resorts, so treat the online list as the rule and ask the desk if in doubt.
  • Tips are never covered. Gratuity is charged to your card even when the food is fully credited.
  • Food and drink you consume only. A bottle of wine bought to take away from Eataly was billed in full.
  • Room service may not count. A guest in the July 2026 ARIA and Cosmopolitan thread was refused the credit on in-room dining, and MGM Grand’s card excludes it too.
  • You can split it. Two meals in two places is fine, as long as the total is spent before you check out. A Park MGM guest in May 2026 split theirs between La Pizza and La La Noodle in the hotel.

Where the $100 credit works, and where it doesn’t.

A summer 2026 guest at Vdara found only $60 loaded on the reservation and had it corrected by calling the front desk before arrival. That same guest’s tip: once you are inside the 72-hour check-in window, call to confirm the $100 credit is on the booking, and ask for early check-in or late checkout on the same call.

Resort fees are paid when you book

Las Vegas resort fees are not waived on The Edit. Chase collects them up front as part of the prepaid total, so you should owe nothing at the desk. A March 2026 MGM Grand stay shows the split: three nights at about $63 a night, $40.58 in taxes and $135 in resort fees, $365.09 in all. Guests at Park MGM, ARIA and The Cosmopolitan reported the same: the fee was in the Chase total and was not charged again at the hotel.

There are also reports, some as recent as early 2026, of a hotel adding the resort fee again at checkout, and one early-2025 guest had to dispute it. Check the “fees included” line on your Chase payment summary before you book, and check your folio before you leave.

The free Wi-Fi benefit shows up as a $5 a night discount on the resort fee rather than as extra money. MGM Grand’s welcome letter put it this way: a $50 resort fee becomes $45.

What else you get, and what you do not

  • Early check-in: often available. Guests got noon at MGM Grand, 11am at ARIA and 8:30am at The Cosmopolitan.
  • Late checkout: when available, and you usually have to ask on the day. MGM Grand offered 4pm in September 2025; ARIA and The Cosmopolitan offered about 1pm. At Park MGM over Christmas 2025, late checkout of noon or 1pm was offered for $35.
  • Upgrades: rare. Almost every report says no upgrade was available. The best was a high-floor Strip view room at Park MGM over Christmas; the worst was a seventh-floor king facing an alley at MGM Grand.
  • Welcome amenity: none reported at any MGM hotel.
  • Welcome letter: hit and miss. MGM Grand and Park MGM printed one for some guests; others were simply told about the dining credit.
  • No back-to-back bookings: MGM Grand’s letter says the benefits do not apply to consecutive stays booked within 24 hours of each other. Splitting a trip between two different hotels works: a July 2026 guest did two nights at ARIA, then two at The Cosmopolitan, and both $250 credits posted.

Park MGM: cheapest, and the rooms show it

Park MGM is usually the cheapest Edit hotel in Las Vegas and among the cheapest in the country, at a typical $252 a night. Its casino is entirely non-smoking, which is a big reason people choose it. The rooms are the trade-off. A May 2026 guest found the room comfortable but basic, with no fridge or microwave unless you pay extra, and summed it up as paying for the location rather than the room.

A January 2026 guest’s photos drew a lot of unkind comments about the décor. One regular says the only rooms worth booking are in The Reserve at Park MGM, the hotel-within-a-hotel that used to be the NoMad, which sits on our list at a typical $328.

If you drive, Park MGM’s garage has a routine. Take a ticket every time you drive in, guest or not. At check-in, give the ticket to the front desk so they can put parking on your room: that is $20 a day instead of $25, with in-and-out privileges at MGM garages across the Strip. Leave with your room key or the parking card they give you, and take a fresh ticket the next time you come back in.

The most detailed recent report is a three-night MGM Grand stay in March 2026. The booking cost $365.09 including taxes and resort fees. The $250 Edit credit posted the day after the charge, leaving $115.09 for three nights on the Strip.

The $100 dining credit went on Secret Pizza and Ghost Donkey, and the final folio showed $26.68: a $4 tip and $22.68 that went over the credit. The welcome letter listed noon check-in when available, a one-category upgrade when available, the Wi-Fi discount on the resort fee and late checkout when available. No upgrade came through, and the shower leaked.

MGM Grand Edit booking for March 15 to 18, 2026: room $189.51 for three nights at $63.17, resort fees $135.00, taxes $40.58, $365.09 charged by Chase Travel, minus the $250 Edit credit posted the next day, $115.09 after the credit
From the guest’s booking and statement, March 15 to 18, 2026. The only other charge at checkout was $26.68 of food that went over the $100 credit.

A September 2025 guest paid for two nights entirely in points: 18,000 points with Points Boost, against a $230 cash price. All the hotel perks still applied. A booking paid only in points does not earn the $250 statement credit, though. Our guide to paying with points and still getting the Edit credit explains the split.

Marriott Bonvoy and earning on top

MGM’s Las Vegas resorts are part of Marriott Bonvoy, so you can add your Bonvoy number to an Edit stay; one guest found you can add Bonvoy or MGM Rewards, not both. Because Chase Travel is a third-party booking, you earn Bonvoy points on what you charge to the room, not on the room rate.

A July 2026 guest at ARIA and The Cosmopolitan said the nights still counted toward Marriott elite status, and that their room charges posted on the Sapphire Reserve as a hotel purchase at 4x. If you registered for Marriott Gold through the card, the 25% Gold bonus applies to those room charges as well.

Our take

For the two of us, Vegas on The Edit is about price, not luxury. A two-night Park MGM or MGM Grand stay can cost little more than the $250 credit, and the $100 dining credit pays for a nice dinner. If breakfast matters, pay more for Bellagio or The Cosmopolitan. Book it, then keep checking the price.

Two cardholders cancelled and rebooked when rates dropped; one had an Edit credit clawed back and Chase restored it after a phone call. Our Chase Travel price match guide covers the other way to claim a drop. And if your flight home leaves early, the Chase Sapphire Lounge at Harry Reid International opens at 4:30am, with breakfast.

Questions

Do Las Vegas Edit hotels include breakfast?

Only some. Cardholders report breakfast at Bellagio, The Cosmopolitan and ARIA Sky Suites ($30 per person a day) and at the Fontainebleau, but not at Park MGM, MGM Grand, ARIA or Mandalay Bay. Check the hotel’s own benefit list on Chase Travel before booking.

Where can I use the $100 MGM dining credit?

At the restaurants and bars on MGM Resorts’ participating outlets list, which covers many MGM resorts on the Strip, not just your hotel. Charge the bill to your room. Tips are not covered, and outlets not on the list are billed in full.

Do I pay resort fees on an Edit stay in Las Vegas?

Yes, but up front. The resort fee is part of the prepaid Chase Travel total, so cardholders report owing nothing more at the hotel. The Wi-Fi benefit takes $5 a night off the fee.

Can I split my Edit credits between two Las Vegas hotels?

Yes. Two separate two-night bookings at different hotels each take one $250 credit; a July 2026 guest did ARIA then The Cosmopolitan and both credits posted. MGM says the hotel benefits do not apply to back-to-back bookings within 24 hours at the same hotel.

Do Edit stays at MGM hotels earn Marriott points?

Not on the room rate, since Chase Travel is a third-party booking, but you can add your Bonvoy number and earn on charges to the room.
